Carole Sousa is a New England-based painter whose current body of work includes abstract florals, figures, and landscapes. She received her B.A. in Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Sousa served as visiting faculty at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) in Boston. While at the SMFA she co-founded Public Health/Public Action, a coalition of artists and community activists dedicated to designing artistic strategies to address public health and societal issues concerning women, children, and youth. For this work she received the Public Service in the Arts award by the City of Boston and the Professional Arts Consortium. Carole is a member of the Brickbottom Artists Association.

 

Following careers in public and human services, she returned to her life-long passion of becoming a full-time artist. She has exhibited at the Bromfield Gallery in Boston and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. She has works held in private collections.
